The Palmery tour is a three to four hour long off road adventure into the palm forest that lies the outskirts of Marrakech, known as “The Palmery.”  Riders will travel through the contours of this mega-oasis, its tiny “off the map” villages, and stunning ruins of civilizations past.  This tour is also recommended for animal lovers, as it is likely you will see camels, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, and donkeys all in one ride.  The Palmery tour is a great family tour, it is a mountain biking playground if you like to veer slightly off the beaten path.

THE 360 TOUR

Level: Beginner-Intermediate-Family Friendly

Welcome to the 360 tour. This ride can be a laid-back cruise along quiet country Berber back roads or a fast paced adventure flying down the mountainside. See draw dropping and awe-inspiring scenery at every turn. Discovering Morocco and the Atlas mountains by bike can feel like a daydream…but the reality is far better. On this tour experience mountain life and passes with extraordinary landscapes. As experts in Morocco bike tours our trips are carefully designed to show you the very best scenery and this highlights the Berber region which is less-accessible and out-of-the-way. This is a ride that is great for families and beginning mountain bikers. It is a ride through unspoiled and undiscovered landscapes. With all the planning and provisioning taken care of and an experienced local tour guide at your side, all you have to do is ride. ENTER THE ATLAS OFF ROAD

Level: Intermediate

If you have always wondered where the road leads to when you turn off before the village of Asni on the mountain road, today you will find out. The signpost says ‘Moulay Brahim’, a village named after a well-known Moroccan Sufi saint. The AXS crew has discovered amazing trails and pistes through this area starting at the top of Moulay Brahim in the Atlas mountains. You will climb roads winding it’s way back and forth steeply up the mountainside and see spectacular views from the top. As you climb you begin to see the snow-clad mountains(seasonal). The valley between you and them is green and verdant until you hit the beautiful Kik plateau. The land has flattened out revealing the most stunning landscape – in part desolate but dotted with the occasional village. You will see for miles across ploughed fields, barren land and terraced escarpments to the mountains beyond – they provide a glorious backdrop to this plateau. This ride provides an equal mixture of uphill and downhill leading you down and around to the infamous lake Lalla Takerkoust. Super beautiful area which is why this is the most requested tour which ends on road for a bit. We finish with a delicious Moroccan lunch of chicken and vegetable tagine along with handmade baked bread, a vibrant salad, fruit, and classic mint tea overlooking the mountains we just rocked! There is a total of 18 kilometers of off road and 12 kilometers on road connecting two off road sections.

THE OURIGANE VALLEY TOUR

This is a full day tour of the beautiful Ouirgane Valley in the high Atlas Mountains. AXS wants to share this secluded pocket of paradise through our two-wheeled friend the bike! This peaceful valley is surrounded by timeless Berber villages where you can see the pleasures of a simpler life where the philosophy of life is more or less extinct in the western world. Stand for just a minute contemplating the view in any direction and you will start to absorb a sense of nature’s peacefulness surrounding you. This tour will take you down the road (or off road) less traveled in the serene Ouirgane Valley of Asni. The tour ascends 7km uphill towards a small hidden village where a friendly smiling local Berber meets us. We have some delicious treats that are enjoyed while overlooking the amazing lake of Asni Ouirgane with magnificent views over mount Toubkal and the mountains. After some rest and relaxation, we descend to the gorgeous plateau that sits protected on all sides by rich red earth gorges. We continue along the terrain and road with a magnificent sensory overload of nature’s beauty. You will experience the foothills of the majestic high Atlas Mountains, blue babbling streams, fragrant pine forests and untouched salt mines. Finish with a scrumptious Berber lunch of Moroccan classics.

THE ASNI TOUR

The Asni Tour is an off-road journey deep into the Atlas Mountains.  Athletically, this is one of our more difficult tours, but intermediate mountain riders who are in good shape would be equipped to handle the tour if they are up for a bit of a challenge.  Riders will travel through quaint stone villages, beautiful orchards, and winding mountain paths with incredible vistas in every direction.  If you are seeking an adventure down the road less traveled (or the road less tourist-ed), this is the option for you.

THE IMLIL TOUR

Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Imlil lies at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains approximately 70 kilometers south of Marrakech, this haven of tranquility, which is perfectly nestled on the mountains, forms the base from which serious riding is conducted. Our guides know this awesome little village like the back of their hand and you will climb, descend, ride fast and hard through it all. You will go through the gem of a village which the tour is named after called Imlil crossing Moulay Ibrahim gorge to Asni. This is well known for the Berber weekly market souk that takes place every Saturday. After this, you will turn right for another 17km climbing past Richard Branson’s Moroccan retreat. This view is phenomenal for stopping and taking breathtaking photos. After much exploring through the atlas mountains and passing plenty of Berbers and mules you will stop for a delicious local Berber lunch. Snacks and water provided throughout at check points with our AXS support vehicle.

THE OUKAIMEDEN TOUR

The Oukaimeden Tour is one that will definitely give you a full days worth of great mountain biking. We start at 2,698 meters, our highest elevated start of all our mountain biking tours. We drop over 2,199 meters over 47 kilometers. Fast paced descents you will experience while viewing the High Atlas Mountains. Crisp fresh air will be inhaled and views of the mountain tops all around. After this full day of riding we will enjoy a great and well earned meal.
